2017 will be the Dalwallinu and Districts Agricultural Society 95th Annual Show. From its humble beginnings as the Farmers and Settlers Picnic in the early 1900s to the formation of the first show committee in 1919 and the inaugural show being held in the Spring of 1920. The show has always been a time for all residents of the shire both past and present to come together to socialise and celebrate the wonderful place in which we live. Over the past 97 years the show has evolved to an event that includes exhibits from all over our shire and?beyond highlighting the importance of all the community being involved in helping to ensure that the show continues on into the future.

The theme for this years show is The Wild West which we have incorporated into a number of sections including Lets Have Fun, Metalwork, Woodwork and many more to give all exhibitors the chance to participate. The 2017 Showbook contains all the relevant changes to this years sections so I would encourage anyone interested in entering entries to note the changes the committee has made and make this show bigger and better.

Our entertainment for this year will cater for people of all ages from Syd and Kim`s Outback Show, Incredible Creatures, Pop Magic, Laser Corps and the rides and amusements of Sideshow Alley. The day will finish on a high with a memorable fireworks display. Inside there will be displays of everything from children?s work to home produce and more along with trade stalls from various vendors. The committee has again tried to provide a great day out for all ages with lots of free entertainment with a lot of effort to cater for families with younger children.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the committee and volunteers including all the judges and stewards who help to make this such an enjoyable day and something we can all be proud of. Thank you also to the many?sponsors, financial contributors and exhibitors of the Dalwallinu and District Agricultural Show.

The committee looks forward to seeing you on show day and would welcome anyone interested in joining us to come and participate. This can only help to continue the shows important place in the districts calendar of events for many years to come.

Thank you, Stephen Wilson
