ANNUAL DALWALLINU AG SHOW

The Dalwallinu and Districts Agricultural Society held its 96th annual show and celebrated 100 years since becoming an Agricultural Society in 1919 after previously being the ‘Farmers & Settlers’ Picnic. Around 1400 Adults and Children attended the show on a beautiful day which had something for everyone. The day was the culmination of many months of preparation from the committee and all our dedicated volunteers which is crucial to be able to hold such an event.

The day was filled with a variety of trade, food and entertainment with our regular side shows in attendance, whom we would like to thank for their ongoing support of our show.

The Pavilion was once again the centre of the community’s contribution to our show which was strongly supported across all sections and we hope everyone feels that they may have something to contribute at next years show to make it bigger and better again.

The show was officially opened by the RAS President, Mr Paul Carter and our Guest Speaker was a local farmers son, Jack Sawyer who gave us a great insight into a career in Agriculture off the farm.

Life Membership was awarded to Wally Cail for his contribution to the Dalwallinu Agricultural Society over many years.

On Friday evening the Society hosted a 100th anniversary celebration of all past and present volunteers to thank them for their time and effort in contributing to the society’s continued success. We would like to thank Shire President, Cr Steven Carter and Life Member Sally Cail for giving an insight into the show. Many thanks to Mrs Marilyn Brown and family for their awesome catering, Donna, Natalie and Janelle for waitressing and thanks also to Anne, Rob and Sep for running the bar.

The afternoon bar was run out of the new bar at the complex which proved to be very popular. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped run the bar for the evening, your help was greatly appreciated.

The fireworks were once again provided a great spectacle and finished a great day with a bang.

Afterglo then entertained us further with some awesome music till late.

Special Thanks to the Shire of Dalwallinu for supporting this event and to all the ratepayers for their support in the redevelopment of the new complex which will be a great asset in the years to come. Special thanks to the shire employees for efforts in presenting the grounds in beautiful condition and their assistance in helping us set up.

To all of the volunteer’s that attended the Busy Bee’s for setting up and packing down on Sunday, we cannot thank you enough.

The Steward’s for arranging all the entries and any other necessary duties.

The Judge’s that travelled from various parts of the state.

The Lady’s in the kitchen that kept us all well fed.

Everyone that donated food and any other items for the day.

Dalwallinu Lions Club for manning the gate all day.

Total Toilets, Adam and Caitlan for providing additional clean ablutions and hand cleaning station.

Laurie Donnes for being our Approved Bar Manager.
